I live within in the South Oakland neighborhood of Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. South Oakland is mostly residential, and a number of old large houses that have been converted into apartments. Oakland also has a number of small private owned stores, and a number of various small restaurants. This part of Oakland is still within walking distance of Pittsburgh University, and Carnegie Mellon University.
Oakland offers a wide range of public bus routes going to just about all parts of the Eastern City. There are also some buses that would go to the South, and Northern Portions. Most of the bus routes would go into Downtown which is a central hub for most of the other bus routes as well. There are also a number of hospitals that are accessible in Oakland, including a hospital specializing in Women's care, and Mental Health.
I live in a two bedroom apartment, but much of my life is centered around the living room. From the best of my knowledge, I live in one of the newer buildings within the neighborhood, and very close to the local post office. While it would take me about 15 minutes to get to the main street, it would normally take a person about 10. While I would not mind living closer to the bus system, I am happy with living here, and my residence being here for more than 5 years would prove it.
